Giving KubeSail a shot on my Pi 4

I received a Pibox in the past from the Kubesail people, but I wanted to try adding an older Pi 4 to my cluster via their instructions.

Per the above recording, this was try number….seven? …at trying to get K3s setup on the Pi OS Lite operating system. It seems the documentation by Kubesail here recommends that.

Looks like running Ubuntu Server 22.04.1 for Raspberry Pi out of the box seems to work better, this time around? I was successfully able to add this test pi to my account this time around. Perhaps they need to update their documentation for getting your Pi synced up with KubeSail to recommend Ubuntu Server? Glad it’s working now. I used the Raspberry Pi Imager on Fedora to burn the image straight to the SSD my Pi is booting from.

Sadly, it looks like the Pi is not showing up in my cluster list after running through their instructions as well as prepping the ubuntu install with the proper modules etc. Seems I have a bit more research to do before I move forward…

Medium, PS4 Linux and future projects

Another year, new hope! This is going to be a short update.

I’ve recently revived my medium account. Say hello to the THICC Pi 4 above!

I’ve recently been working on some things, such as getting PC games running on the Pi 4, which I posted about here, and that Linux-on-PS4 project I blogged about prior. Looking to begin crossing off projects from my tracker this year!

Also recently, I’ve been real excited for the GPD Win 3 release and some upcoming handhelds from Experimental Pi that were leaked.

Maybe I’ll do more writing as well…

Until next time!

Upcoming Pi 4 and Gaming-As-An-Appliance Projects

Hello there again! I guess unemployment has finally given me a reason to get back to all my fun little hardware projects.

I recently saw these two videos by youtuber LowSpecGamer (newest, older) and had my interest in the Pi gaming community reinvigorated! Then after seeing the Argon One M.2 case review by ETA Prime on youtube, I also thought that would make a fantastic overclock case for a Pi 4 set-top box that sits under the tv and can play various games via TwisterOS (see more from the LSG vids)

Another project I have in the pipeline…..once I find a power cable… is to setup GamerOS which I mentioned here before, in an old Dell Optiplex 3020 I had laying around from when I worked in my last IT job. I would love to see the recent progress the developer has made on this!

That’s all for now! Look forward to updates in the future!
